Description
Whatever garden project you have in mind, with these Douglas shelves it will certainly be a success! The Douglas planks are mainly used as fence planks, where they can also be covered with a gunwale. In addition, it can be used to make a wall or to use it as cladding for garden houses, roofs and verandas. We also regularly see that garden furniture is made from these planks.
White Douglas fir naturally has a pink/yellow color and ages beautifully. The beautiful ‘flame’ in the wood is also preserved during and after aging.
The planks are band-sawn, which provides a rough structure, which fully enhances the robust appearance of the Douglas fir. Band sawing is a traditional sawing method that is almost non-existent. Band sawn wood is rough on both sides and leaves no saw marks or saw bands along the length of the wood, which is often the case with more modern sawing methods.
Our band-sawn Douglas fir planks are freshly sawn, which means that there is a chance of moisture and resin escaping and effect of the wood in the first months.
Douglas wood is graying due to weather influences. Do you want to keep the original color? Then treat the beams with Osmo – Clear UV Protection Oil.
